Who's Missing? (On Jason's First Day of School)
This happened a while ago, back in October on Jason's first school day. I had to be present in the classroom for the first half day.
The day started with "circle time" where all the little boys and girls had to sit down in a circle.
After singing the "good morning" song, the teacher started asking questions like: "How many boys are there today?" - someone counted the boys and replied. "How many girls are there in the circle?" - someone counted and replied. And then she asked "Who's missing?".
In a very shy little voice I heard Jason say "Saya..." (referring to his little sister).
It broke my heart!

Better be good...
I was sitting next to Sara encouraging her to use the potty when Jason entered the room.
"Are you behaving yourselves?" he asked....

Daddy and me...
Jason had to go potty. When he finished, he came to my office and proudly showed off the contents of his potty.
"Look mommy! A big one and a little one. Just like daddy and me!

No pants!
After a long winter, we finally had a beautiful warm day. Since the temperature was over 80, I decided to put a dress on Sara.
It was a sturdy cotton dress, so when I strapped her in her stroller, the fabric went up showing her sturdy little legs.
When we arrived at Jason's school that day to pick him up, he took a look at his sister and exclaimed "Saya! You have no pants!!" He looked scandalized and had a very worried look on his face.

Scary Song...
The radio was on and they put "Bright Shiny Day"
(I can see clearly now, the rain is gone…gonna be a bright, bright, bright, bright sun shiny day!).
At a certain time, we hear a background chorus singing "Aaah, aaah, aaah...."
Jason seemed to be listening to the song since he asked me:
"Mommy, is this a scary song?"

A heardresser's toilet!
Jason needed a haircut, so we went to the hairdresser's.
As soon as we got into this place, he announces: "Mommy, I have to go to the toilet!"
Of course. I could have known. I whisper something to the person standing at the counter and she points to a door in the back.
We go there and when we go inside Jason asks me:
"Is this a hairdresser's toilet?" - and when I confirmed that he exclaimed: "Wow! That's cool!"

No smoking!
In the post office...
Jason: Mommie, what sign is that?
Sylvia: That's a "no smoking" sign.
Jason is analyzing the sign not sure what to make of it since we don't have anybody who smokes in our environment.
Then he declares: "A train smokes!".
"That's right", I had to admit. "Trains smoke, and some people smoke too". "This sign is for the people, .... not for the trains!".

Jason: Mommie, I want to jump on the bed 100 times, can you help me?

Analyze that!
Jason is now trying to recognize words. He reads "yes", "no", and "go".
Now this morning, he was looking in a book and saw the word "BOOK".
I saw him looking ... he was very concentrated... Then he turned to me and declared: "Look mom, B-thousand-and-K!"
Obviously, they have been reading dates in school - and if you ask me, it makes perfect sense!
